Wisco Kidz is an American hip hop collective out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Established in 2011, and since they have consistently raised the bar by putting out quality music at a rapid pace. In the process, building a dedicated fan base throughout the Midwest. The individual members consisting of Kyrie (Javier Lockridge), YD (Mike Lawry), and ND (Julian Lockridge). Kyrie and ND (brothers) were born in Chicago. YD was born in Milwaukee. The artists met and decided to collaborate while attending Green Bay Southwest High School. Following graduation, they began recording their first collective project. Their music includes elements of hip hop, rap, and R&B with musical inspiration from Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem and 50 cent. YD is described as a natural rapper with a more laid-back and technical/rhythmic flow, while Kyrie’s vocal tone and frenetic delivery bring the adrenaline.
The Wisco Kidz have created an organic following, through their work ethic, vision, and dedication to their craft. “The Wake Up” a joint project between Kyrie and YD was the first mixtape released by the collective in June of 2011. The self titled mixtape ‘Wisco Kidz’ was released in the summer of 2013 and was the first project featuring all members.
Fast forward to summer of 2014, their break out mixtape “The Wake Up 2” released under the flagship label Wisco Kidz Entertainment, which featured club anthem “Shutdown” and a female fan favorite “Pretty Little Thing,” was hailed as a classic locally and went on to collect several awards across the state. With full momentum in early 2015 Wisco Kidz delivered the March Madness EP, featuring the hit single’s “Keifer Sykes” and “Hold Up” which is currently creating an unprecedented level of excitement in the city. The group has shared the stage with the likes of YG, Trina, Kirko Bangz, Lil Durk, and Kevin Gates just to mention a few.
The duo (Kyrie & YD) have recently collaborated and worked with fellow artists while producing singles “One Day”, “Side Bitches”, and “December 25th”. Earlier this year “So Predictable” was released, the first single off their upcoming album ‘The Wake up 3’. This record set the tone for 2016, and the collective is currently preparing for the release of their next single off of the album; “Party 2 Much”.
